Addressing a meeting of Various cells of BJP in the state Shekhawat said that the erstwhile state of Punjab was a pioneer in prosperity and had the distinction of being the first in the GDP ratings not long ago. Today not only the state is reeling under a whopping debt but has the dubious reputation of drugs being peddled. There are no venues of employment to the youth and there is disenchanted in the public with the political parties for rampant corruption and total apathy to revive the economy. He regretted.

The Prime Minister has a special bond with Punjab and will definitely work out a roadmap to rejuvenate the economy and give Punjab its distinction of being no one. He said.
